Description of Wellness Profession Levels

LEVEL 0 : WELLNESS ENTHUSIAST

A Wellness Enthusiast is someone who has a strong interest and passion for living a healthy, balanced life but may not necessarily be a trained professional or certified practitioner in the wellness field. This person is highly motivated to incorporate wellness practices into their daily life and may actively explore various wellness activities, such as fitness routines, mindful eating, mental health practices, and self-care. While they may not provide wellness services to others, their enthusiasm for personal well-being often inspires those around them.

LEVEL 1: JUNIOR WELLNESS PRACTITIONER

A Junior Wellness Practitioner is typically an entry-level role in the wellness field for someone who is just starting out in their career or has recently completed foundational training. This title suggests that the individual is gaining hands-on experience while under the guidance of more seasoned professionals. A Junior Wellness Practitioner is expected to be in the early stages of learning and developing their skills but may still be involved in client-facing work, supporting wellness programs, or assisting with various tasks related to wellness services. 

Accreditation Criteria for Junior Wellness Practitioner

Experience: Individuals who have completed basic wellness training and are in the early stages of their career.

Qualification: Certification or foundational education in a wellness field (e.g., wellness coaching, fitness instruction, yoga teacher training).

Services: May offer general wellness advice, fitness sessions, or basic coaching under supervision or mentorship.

  1. Completion of a recognized wellness training program.
  2. Understanding of wellness principles and their application.
  3. Commitment to ethical practices and professional development.
  4. Willingness to work under the guidance of a senior professional.
Junior Wellness Practitioner

LEVEL 2: WELLNESS PRACTITIONER

A wellness practitioner is a professional who typically has specialized training or certification in a specific area of wellness, such as fitness, nutrition, mental health, or holistic therapies or ect. They work directly with clients to improve their overall well-being. Their role is hands-on and requires a deep understanding of various wellness practices. Usually, they are not in the leading role, but are employed at a Wellness Spa, Wellness Center, Wellness Studio or other.

Accreditation Criteria for Wellness Practitioner

Experience: Professionals who have gained practical experience in the wellness field and are now offering independent services.

Qualification: Advanced certification or diploma in a wellness discipline (e.g., holistic health coaching, personal training, massage therapy, etc.).

Services: Independent practice offering wellness consultations, fitness training, or therapy services to individuals and groups.

Key Criteria:

  1. Valid certifications in a wellness specialty.
  2. Minimum of 1-2 years of practical experience in the wellness industry.
  3. Proven track record of client success and positive feedback.
  4. Adherence to a code of ethics and professional conduct.
  5. Continuing education in wellness practices.
Wellness Practitioner

LEVEL 3: HOLISTIC WELLNESS SPECIALIST

A Holistic Wellness Specialist is a professional who takes a comprehensive, integrated approach to health and well-being, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected elements of a person’s overall wellness. Unlike traditional approaches that may treat symptoms in isolation, holistic wellness specialists looks at the person as a whole, addressing physical, emotional, mental, social, and even spiritual aspects of health. They often blend various wellness practices, therapies, and techniques to help individuals achieve optimal well-being and balance in their lives. Holistic Wellness Specialist combines hands-on, client-facing expertise (wellness practitioner) and the promotional and customer-service-oriented responsibilities (wellness representative). Usually hold a Vocational Degree or Bachelor diploma and are in a leading role at Wellness Studio, with one to two employees (wellness practitioners).

Accreditation Criteria for Holistic Wellness Specialist

Education: Higher Education

Experience: Highly experienced professionals who specialize in a range of holistic wellness services and techniques.

Qualification: Specialized certifications or advanced education in a holistic wellness field (e.g., Ayurvedic medicine, energy healing, integrative health coaching, or mind-body therapy).

Services: Holistic treatments and coaching that incorporate various modalities to promote overall well-being, including physical, mental, and emotional health.

Key Criteria:

  1. Advanced certifications in holistic or integrative wellness disciplines.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience and specialized expertise.
  3. Ability to provide customized holistic wellness programs tailored to individual needs.
  4. In-depth understanding of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
  5. Client testimonials and evidence of successful outcomes.
  6. Active involvement in ongoing professional development and training.
Holistic Wellness Specialist

LEVEL 4: WELLNESS AMBASSADOR

A Wellness Ambassador is a passionate advocate for health and well-being who promotes and inspires others to adopt healthy lifestyles. They embody wellness principles in their own lives and actively share knowledge and practices related to physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Wellness ambassadors often represent wellness brands, services, or products, helping to create awareness and encourage positive changes in communities. They may engage with people through social media, events, workshops, or personal interactions, fostering a sense of empowerment and motivation to live healthier lives. Wellness Ambassador combines 3 roles: hands-on, client-facing expertise (wellness practitioner), the promotional and customer-service-oriented responsibilities (wellness representative) and sharing awareness about Wellness via Articles, Free Workshops, Lectures; doing Pro Bono for those who wish to Better themselfes, but are Socialy disadvantaged. Usually hold a Masters or Phd diploma and are in a leading role at Wellness center or Wellness Spa, with a group of employees.

Accreditation Criteria for Wellness Ambassador

Education: Higher Education (Masters or PhD)

Experience: Highly influential individuals who represent wellness practices, advocate for wellness initiatives, and inspire others in the wellness community.

Qualification: Expertise in wellness advocacy, education, or leadership, with a focus on promoting wellness initiatives to broader audiences.

Services: Leading wellness programs, public speaking, wellness advocacy, and community engagement.

Key Criteria:

  1. Advanced certifications in holistic or integrative wellness disciplines.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience and specialized expertise.
  3. Ability to provide customized holistic wellness programs tailored to individual needs.
  4. In-depth understanding of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
  5. Client testimonials and evidence of successful outcomes.
  6. Active involvement in ongoing professional development and training.
  7. Proven experience as a wellness leader or advocate.
  8. Active role in promoting wellness education and awareness through media, events, or community work.
  9. Strong communication and leadership skills.
  10. Credibility in the wellness field through consistent advocacy and positive impact.
  11. Ethical practices and dedication to inspiring wellness on a larger scale
Wellness Ambassador
